Project ID 354GLO5007.1

Producing and using internationally recognized sets of indicators, IPDC conducts assessments of national media landscapes, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, and proposing evidence-based recommendations on how to strengthen media pluralism and independence. The assessments are nationally-driven, inclusive, participatory, and based on a gender-sensitive approach. Such assessments enable a more effective targeting of media development efforts based on objectively identified priorities and the needs expressed by national stakeholders. They also provide a reliable resource for policy makers in guiding media-related reform with reference to international standards.
