Cities and Education: Research in France
The Cities and Education 2030 research programme aims to identify the strengths and major challenges facing cities in implementing education strategies. The programme also aims to stimulate the sharing of experiences between cities and states. In 2018-2019, an IIEP research team visited the French cities of Grigny, Ivry-sur-Seine, Orvault and Saint-Quentin to study the design, implementation and steering of their education strategies, in the context of cities being given increasing responsibilities in education.
DiscoverFocus: Open government in education
The publication of the document Estimating school-age populations by applying Sprague multipliers to raster data inaugurates a new IIEP series: Technical Notes. Produced to be practical and to answer specific questions raised by educational planners, the documents to come will be fairly short and in A4 format.
As the title suggests, this methodology and toolkit sets out a method for estimating the number of children and young people per age group where official granular data is not available, so that communities can benefit from education services that meet their specific needs. More titles to follow.
