Feature Conference
The Feature Conference of Global MIL Week 2018 is the 8th Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (MILID) Conference. It will be held in Lithuania under the same theme as the Global MIL Week 2018 from 24 to 25 October 2018, at the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT TRANSPORTATION
For all participants who will register to attend both the Feature Conference and Youth Agenda Forum - the transportation from Kaunas to Riga and back will be organized and covered by the organizers of the event.

Co-organizers
The Global MIL Week 2018 Feature Conference and Youth Agenda Forum are co-organized by UNESCO, Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania) and University of Latvia (Latvia). The two universities are both members of the UNESCO-UNAOC UNITWIN Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (MILID) University Network.
Objectives
The feature conference will explore how stakeholders interpret ways of educating citizens in MIL in all types of environments. It will focus on the global status of research and practice about the significance of MIL as a way to transform present and future information and learning environments. The aim is to build more bridges between learning outside of the classroom and learning inside the classroom. In addition, the conference will contribute to making learning a process of social change, which fosters human rights online and offline and which constructs a new citizenship identity based on critical civic participation and intercultural dialogue.
Feature Conference Host
The Department of Public Communications of Vytautas Magnus University will host the Feature Conference.
Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) has developed a strong profile in academic research and outreach activities since its re-establishment in 1989. VMU is the only higher education institution in the country and one of the few in the region, where a wide liberal arts education is imparted. Acclaimed for its international cooperation, VMU is networking with universities, academics and other partners around the world.
The Department of Public Communications at VMU has a 20-year-long history of advancing media and communication research and journalism studies. Its reputation runs on strong academic capacity and rich experience in research, education, training and evidence-based policy-making. The department is known for its networking activities relating to MIL and has established close working connections with other departments and institutions nationally and internationally.
